Are You Really Getting a Professionally Written Resume? A Look Behind the Curtain

Let’s be real - not all resume services are created equal. In fact, many of the big-name operators out there are selling volume, not quality. Sleek websites, flashy claims, and inflated “success rates” hide a basic truth: your resume may be written by a bot, outsourced overseas, or rushed by someone who never spoke to you.

It’s frustrating to see how many people are spending hundreds of dollars on generic documents packed with buzzwords but lacking substance — no strategy, no tailoring, no soul.

Some resume companies claim to have been “guiding careers since 1992,” yet only registered their ABN in 2011. Others boast about “98.5% success rates” with no evidence to back it up. Let’s be clear - if you’re one of hundreds getting near-identical templates, those odds are meaningless.

Where I Stand

When you work with me, you get exactly what’s promised:

✔ A one-on-one conversation

✔ A professionally written resume based on your actual skills

✔ No outsourcing, no fluff

✔ Real attention to detail — whether you’re heading into mining, construction, or corporate work

Why I Don’t Use AI to Write Your Resume -And Why That Matters

You’ve probably seen a lot of companies claiming to write “professional resumes” — fast, cheap, and guaranteed to get results. Some of them even use big flashy websites and have dozens of reviews. But here’s the truth:

🧠 I don’t rely on ChatGPT or any AI to write your resume.

Sure, I use it to brainstorm occasionally, like how a builder might sketch out ideas on a notepad. But every word of your resume is written by me, not by a bot.

Why? Because resumes need to feel like you. Not just sound professional, but actually reflect your story, your grit, your achievements, and your voice. You can’t get that from a machine.

The Rise of AI-Written Resumes (and Why They Fail)

A lot of resume writers - especially the big companies - are now secretly using AI to churn out resumes. You upload your info, maybe answer a few questions, and the rest is spat out by software. Quick turnaround, sure. But the end result? Often generic, robotic, and not built to impress a real hiring manager.

You deserve better than that.

The Truth About Outsourcing

I’ve worked in this industry long enough to know what goes on:

Outsourcing to junior writers overseas

Mass-produced resumes using recycled templates

No real conversation with the person behind the resume

Some resume companies outsource your resume writing to the Philippines, India, or other offshore locations. They take your order through a slick Australian website, gather your details, and pass the job to a lower-paid writer overseas. You often won’t know it’s happening.

⚠️ The risks? Poor local knowledge, templated language, and a finished product that doesn’t reflect you.

I don’t outsource. Ever. What you get is written here in Australia, by someone who understands the industries you’re applying for — and who cares about getting it right.

One Resume Doesn’t Fit All

That’s why I often create different resumes for different industries. If you’re switching between mining and construction, for example, each one deserves its own focus, layout, and tone. Tailoring matters — not just in keywords, but in how your strengths are positioned. It’s the difference between “okay” and getting shortlisted.

---

Bottom line? If you’re paying for a professional service, you should receive a professional service - not a glorified template or AI-generated fluff.

If you want a resume that’s honest, sharp, and tailored to you - you know where to find me.
