There’s plenty of movement out there in the Gippsland job paddocks this month. While some industries are tightening the belt, others are crying out for good, reliable workers who’ll turn up, get the job done, and have a bit of pride in their work.

Fresh numbers show more than 700 jobs listed across West Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley — that’s Traralgon, Morwell, Moe, Warragul and surrounds. From hospitals to hardware stores, aged care to admin, the grass is definitely greener if you know where to look.

Health and community services are leading the herd, with hospitals and aged-care homes looking for everything from lifestyle staff to kitchen hands. Trades are busy too — plumbers, sparkies, and maintenance crews are in solid demand, as are logistics and warehouse operators keeping the shelves stocked.

Even the councils are on the lookout. East Gippsland Shire and others are advertising a steady stream of full-time and seasonal roles. That’s a sure sign the region’s ticking along and keeping folks employed locally.

Of course, not every paddock’s lush. A few big names have packed up — Menulog announced it’ll shut its Aussie operations later this month, and Mount Gibson Iron has closed its Koolan Island mine up north. It’s a reminder that even when things look good, it pays to keep your résumé sharp and your boots ready.

If you’re between jobs, thinking of a career change, or just want to be ready when opportunity knocks, now’s a good time to give your résumé a tune-up.

At Gippsland Resumes, we help locals put their best foot forward — because out here, word travels fast and good workers deserve to stand out. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, or seasonal work, a strong résumé is the best tool in your shed.

Until next time — keep your gear in order, your phone charged, and your résumé up to date. You never know when the next good job will come rolling down the track.
